“ If you're looking for some seriously satisfying Creole comfort food, My Marie on Cherokee Street is the spot. I got the Creole shrimp with peas and rice plus a side of mac and cheese, and let me tell you, I left full and very happy. The Creole shrimp had the perfect amount of kick, packing in those spicy flavors without overpowering everything. The mac and cheese was creamy, rich, and exactly what I wanted on the side. And shoutout to my foodie friend for letting me snag a fish taco which was crispy, perfect with the coleslaw, and absolutely delicious. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to. ”
“ The food was great!!! If you're looking for amazing soul food, this is the spot! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious--perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, and full of authentic flavor. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, the mac and cheese was rich and creamy, and the collard greens tasted just like home. On top of the incredible food, the service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. If you love real, homemade soul food, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back for more! ”
“ A good comfort food restaurant. Home cooking taste and feel, a family feeling. I like going here. Haitian food that isn't too hot suits me great. The service was good, but my waitress had limited English, so we had to a bit more discussion on the menu items. I recommend. Parking is street parking, so be aware that it may be more difficult to find a place on the street if there is snow or ice. ”
“ I'm Haitian and this place reminds me of back home. My only complaint is that they don't have Djon Djon on the menu. The food is unreal. ”
“ A friend and I decided to try this place yesterday. This is a Hatian/Caribbean restaurant that has been on my bucket list of restaurants to try. I ordered the oxtail and chose cabbage and red beans and rice for my sides My friend had the jerk chicken with cabbage and rice and peas for her sides! Of course we traded out food. Let me tell you.... The red beans and rice....delicious!! The oxtails....chef's !!! The rice and peas (with the oxtail gravy/juice mixed in) chef's !!!!! The cabbage....chef's !!!!! Are you getting the hint? RUN to this place and try it out!! The jerk chicken was good as well!! We also ordered peach cobbler for dessert.....goodT!!!!!! Don't cheat yourself...treat yourself to some delicious food!!!! ”
“ My husband had been raving about this place forever, so I finally came in with him to give it a try. And I must say the food was delicious. It's a Jamaican spot with your typical Jamaican style foods. The service was OK; they look/seemed family owned. The restaurant is not very big, not good for large groups but there's always the to go option! We ordered the curry chicken, rice and peas and cabbage. All items were yummy. ”
“ Get the seafood gumbo!!!I also enjoyed a side of Delicious fried ripe plantains (aka maduros in Spanish speaking countries). Both were soooo good. The complexity of flavor was breathtaking, I was not expecting so much seafood but also chicken and sausage. There really is no way to describe it outside of you just going there to get a bowl. Plantains were perfect, large cut and fried so they were the perfect consistency inside, melt in your mouth, but not at all oily. The attention to detail at this restaurant is much appreciated by me, I know it's been hard on restaurants with the pandemic and I've been having some disappointing interactions with restaurants lately, My Marie will be a go to from now on! ”
“ We're so happy to have a Haitian restaurant in town! And the food is delicious!! We were enjoying everything so much that I forgot to take pictures of our appetizers. We came in on a Saturday night. They were out of a couple of things, but it was the end of their day and was understandable. Alternate suggestions were made, and I ended up with a surprisingly delicious alternative to what I had planned to have. I ordered the marinade for an appetizer and two beef patties. The patties were some of the best I've had. I'd come back just for these. For my main meal, I ended up getting the beef riblets with jerk sauce on them. Oh. My. Word. The beef was so tender, and the sauce was delicious. I had plantains (green) and rice and peas for my sides. Their rice and peas was also so good! Also ordered at the table: jerk chicken, fried pork, beef stew, and legims. Everyone was pleased with their food and most of our group ordered the rice with black bean sauce and plantains (sweet) and loved them. The service was great, and we look forward to going back. ”
